Our Approach 🎭
At Artéfakt, we believe there is no distinction between “film” and “stage” acting. Acting is the Art of Being, and Being is the Art of Truth. Our workshops emphasize organic, grounded, and emotionally truthful performances. We work closely with actors to help them connect deeply to their emotional core and make powerful, specific acting choices.
Age Requirement: 18+
Each actor receives a personalized one-on-one coaching with Magalie on Day 1 prior to working with the Casting Director on Day 2.

Participant Requirements
To get the most from your experience, please make sure:
your lines are memorized. This is not a cold read session.
you're well-rehearsed and have prepared acting choices.
you're audition-ready (hair, makeup, facial hair, and wardrobe).
you have your props ready if applicable.
you are able to take notes and engage fully.
to bring water and snacks (there will be a 10min break)
to bring 2 printed copies of your sides, one for you and one for your in-class reader every week.
to bring an SD card to class (16GB minimum) in order to get your class footage (you will get a long recording of your 1 on 1 coaching with your Coach/the Casting Director directly on your card)
We sell 32GB SD cards at $15 onsite (exact cash or e-transfer only). Files will not be transferred online.

Cancellation Policy
All workshop fees are non-refundable and non-creditable. If you can no longer attend, you may find another student to take your spot.
Magalie is an award-winning and award-nominated actor working across Canada in both English and French. Originally from Québec City, she is fluently bilingual and has received extensive training from leading acting studios in Toronto, Vancouver, and Los Angeles.
In 2023, Magalie wrote and starred in her short film Falling, which screened at multiple international film festivals and earned a total of 10 awards, including: 3× Best Lead Actress, 3× Best Romance, 3× Best Director, Best Cinematography.
In 2024, she premiered her solo theatre show Homecumming at the Montreal Fringe Festival, where she received two Frankie Award nominations: Most Promising ComedyandMost Promising Production. The following year, she was nominated for Best French Script and won the Best Narrative award. Magalie is thrilled to bring Homecumming to international audiences with its Adelaide Fringe 2026 premiere and its USA premiere at Orlando Fringe 2026.

Magalie’s work spans screen and stage, with credits on networks such as Lifetime, ABC, UPtv, SYFY, Paramount+, and The CW.A trusted force in the independent film landscape, Monika has cast projects supported by some of Canada’s most prestigious institutions, including the Canada Media Fund, Canada Council for the Arts, TELUS Storyhive, Telefilm Canada, DGC Greenlight, Harold Greenberg Fund, and Crazy8s. Her versatility extends into voice and motion-capture casting for video games, reflecting her adaptability and forward-thinking approach.
Angela Quinn is a 2026 Canadian Screen Award nominee for Achievement in Casting and a Leo Award nominee, with an impressive body of work spanning over 250 projects. Her casting portfolio ranges from internationally released feature films to independent shorts screened at festivals worldwide, reflecting her versatility and keen eye for talent.
With a career built on championing authentic and compelling performances, Angela has collaborated with acclaimed directors, producers, and networks across North America. She is committed to discovering emerging talent while supporting established actors in bringing nuanced, memorable characters to life.
In 2024, she received a Leo Award nomination for Best Casting in a Television Movie for Just Like a Christmas Movie, which was filmed in her home region of Kelowna, BC. Her Canadian Screen Award nomination—one of the industry’s highest honours—further underscores her exceptional ability to identify, curate, and elevate talent, contributing significantly to the success and authenticity of the projects she works on.
She is a proud member of the Casting Society of America (CSA) and the Casting Directors Society of Canada (CDC), as well as a voting member of the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television (ACCT).
Beyond film and television, she serves as the Artistic Director of her British Columbia–based theatre company, The Creative House, where she continues to develop and support live performance.
